A wedding in Bali is a dream come true for many couples, and it is a simple and stress free experience when you have a great planner and a fantastic venue. After a major upgrade in January 2022 the sprawling lower lawn area at Colony has morphed into a stunning dedicated wedding and event space, replete with food and drink cabanas, and a breath-taking tropical waterfall wedding stage nestled in a lush tropical garden framed by stone walls and verdant coconut trees.

While we concentrate on providing you and your guests the best possible private resort style experience during your stay at Colony, our superbly talented planners and stylists will be working to bring your dream wedding to fruition. We host a very limited number of weddings each year, ensuring the lawns are in perfect condition for each celebration, and you get the meticulous attention to detail your milestone event deserves.

In your totally private tropical get-away, accommodating up to 30 guests on-site from around just aud$60pp per night, and with all the facilities and services you need for an extra-ordinary wedding and post ceremony celebration in the one place, you can truly relax and enjoy one of the most important days of your lives.

You are dealing direct with the owners of the property, who also operate the Marine 1 charter vessels, Bambu Hotels, and several function spaces in Australia, between them hosting hundreds of events each year; everything from the Red Bull Float Parties and Qantas Xmas events to scores of wedding receptions and hens cruises. You’re in good hands, events and hospitality are in our blood, and we love a good celebration.

You are in an amazing villa, one that really is more akin to a private resort than a regular Bali villa. Zero worries about you or your guests
getting to the wedding on time, and that can be an issue with Bali traffic and having everybody spread out. For your guests who we can’t fit into Colony there are a myriad well priced accommodation options just minutes away. It’s convenience plus with zero stress.

We know our way around Bali, and we know the best people to plan and style and run your event. Working together as a close-knit team you can be assured of a flawlessly executed day and night.

In a Villa you have total flexibility. No minimum spend requirement like those imposed by many hotels and resorts. Order eat and drink exactly what you want and in the quantities you need, and at prices substantially below what a resort will charge you. If you have your own planner, that’s fine too, subject to us providing them conditions of use and ticking off their credentials.

You have total privacy. Compare this to being ogled by a hundred beer swilling tourists lazing around a resort pool or beach with nothing better to do that take an unhealthy interest in your big day. Or worse, having some beach-goer in speedos in the background of your photos. Hotels and resorts may lay claim to “private beaches”, but that’s not true. All beaches in Bali are public spaces, and you will have random people ambling past and quite possibly disturbing one of the biggest and most important days of your life. The villa is your space, and just you and your best friends and family get to enjoy every part and every minute of it.

When is the best time for a Bali wedding?

Most weddings are outdoor events unless you get married in a chapel and then have your dinner reception in a ballroom. But that’s kind of defeating the purpose; brides and grooms go to Bali to enjoy the tropical vibe and green open spaces, and to celebrate in a beautiful open air setting. Generally, the best time for a wedding in Bali is between April and October. In this period the weather is dry and stable, with little humidity. This is the pre-monsoon season. During June to August prices for hotels, wedding venues, and air-tickets are usually higher. It may be difficult to find an amazing villa to host your event, so make sure you book as far ahead wherever possible. We host weddings all year round, and some guests simply prefer the beauty of a wet and glistening Bali, the essence of a true tropical experience. But it doesn’t rain every day, and when it does it can be in just short sharp bursts. In January of 2024, we just went 13 days without a drop of rain, and the rest of the month with very little.

Unlike many other venues we have a back-up Plan B for rainy event days; a quick shuffle of the furniture and we revert to the main pavilion that can host 120 guests Cocktail Style. There are pros and cons for both seasons, and dry season is definately the most popular but also the most expensive, while in low season we can offer bigger discounts for major events at Colony.
